4/30 Everything's Jake

We spent some time last night walking around Navarette.  It is built on a hillside so it was a great warm down for our sore, tired muscles and joints.  I am drawn to the interactions I see here, most particularly from the very young, and the very old.

As we were leaving Navarette this morning at 6:30, we were scolded by an English couple for talking too loudly.  We were walking past apartment buildings and windows were open.  They were right.  The best thing to do was say "sorry, I will try to be more considerate" and move on.  I wish there had been grace for us though.  I know I need to have that for others too.  Grace...forgiveness.  They're related, I'm chewing on it.

I didn't end up with another blister from yesterday's walk.  The body is such an amazing thing...my feet were swollen yesterday, the skin was warm to the touch, thin and smooth.  But overnight, it seemed to return to normal and was ready for another full day of walking.

I thought today's walk was lovely.  Temperatures in the low 60s, a slight breeze, beautiful terrain, and a stop to rest my feet over a cup of coffee every two hours or so.  I met Bridget (I think from the UK) and a gal from Brazil.  I am in Azofra and sharing a room with Rebekkah from Chicago.  She is a journalist and seems very nice.  I have given her permission to throw a shoe at me if she hears me snore.  Snoring seems to be the bane in the albergues...the most common reason for lack of sleep.
