4/21-April in Paris...

A quick tip...if you are using your phone to view the blog, you have an option when it opens to use the web version (click on the orange box)...I think this is a better option.  You'll have to zoom in to read the posts and see the pics, but you have better access to the blog.  On the right hand side, you will see, in orange, "Spotify" followed by a date.  The date of the music link corresponds to the date of the journal entry.  You will have to let me know about the music...I know it is a very personal thing...tied to memories and relationships, and often, when someone tells me of a song or piece that means a great deal to them, I am like..."meh...".  It's all good...let me know, I am curious.

My flight to Dallas/Fort Worth was uneventful, and though the middle seat was empty, I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep.  An Americano soon after I landed ended any hope of catching up on some of those missed zzzzzzs before my 5:00 flight to Paris.  I people watched.

I like the airport at DFW.  It seems well thought out and easy to navigate...a quick upstairs escalator ride takes you to a train stop that shuttles you to the terminal your flight uses.  Jeremy and I would kill it here on Amazing Race.

I landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport around 10 am, went through customs quickly, and with some help from a kind train attendant, purchased a train ticket for 14€ to the downtown area.  I wanted to drop my backpack at the Air B&B I was staying at, and then do some exploring.  I found the apartment without too much trouble despite my ignorance of the French language.  Then I headed out, using the Batobus, which is a huge tourist barge that travels up and down the Seine, making 9 stops in a huge loop.  You can buy an all-day ticket and hop off or on anywhere along the route for 19€.  Which I did...all afternoon in the glorious sunshine! I didn't make it to any of the museums, I just didn't have enough time, so I will save those for another trip.  Tomorrow I walk about a mile to the Montparnasse train station and head to Saint Jean Pied de Port.
